North Wales Eye Correction Centre, Bangor

Eye Correction Centre is proud to announce the formal opening of the first and fully comprehensive, independent Healthcare Inspectorate Wales (HIW) accredited Ophthalmology outpatient facility in North Wales in October 2021.

The philosophy of Eye Correction Centre is to deliver the best possible care to our patients. The highest standards of care can only be achieved by direct delivery of care by highly qualified consultants. All the surgeons practicing at North Wales Eye Correction Centre have undergone the formal Ophthalmology training program in the UK and hold a substantive NHS consultant position. In additional, the consultants have also completed their fellowship training and are highly regarded amongst their peers, often receiving tertiary referrals for management of complex Ophthalmological conditions.

At North Wales Eye Correction Centre, we have invested in the state-of-the-art technology to deliver the best care to our patients. We believe that only with the combination of advance technology and highly skilled consultants, patients will experience the best solutions to their problems.

We provide one-stop management for many conditions including:

  • Cataract assessment and surgical planning including premium lens options
  • YAG laser capsulotomy
  • Keratoconus management (Pentacam®)
  • Dry Eyes (TearLabTM Osmolarity test)
  • Glaucoma (Humphrey visual field, OCT)
  • Diabetic retinopathy (Fundal photography, OCT)
  • Age related macular degeneration (OCT)

During the pandemic, we have modifications in place to protect the health and safety of our patients. Hand sanitizers are available on entrance and there are few more placed around the sitting area. We can provide face masks if required and an acrylic Perspex screen is fitted at our reception.

The clinics at North Wales Eye Correction Centre are never overbooked. Sittings are arranged so that patients can stay with their accompanying family members and there will be at least 2m separation from other patients.

We have trained staffs to ensure your comfort during your visit at North Wales Eye Correction Centre in Bangor. Don’t forget to ask for a cup of freshly brewed coffee whilst you are waiting to see your consultant!

Eye Correction Centre work with charities such as Macular Society and the RNIB to provide support to our patients affected by sight loss. We have here to help our patients and their family members to understand their condition, discuss management and we can also arrange for registration of visual impairment.
