Mr Craig Parkes graduated from Liverpool medical school in 2005, and began specialist training in ophthalmology in 2007. He has trained in some of the leading Ophthalmic centres in the uk including Birmingham Midland Eye Centre, St Paul’s Eye Hospital Liverpool and Royal Victoria Infirmary Newcastle. He completed two and a half years of fellowship training in Vitreoretinal surgery and Medical retina. In 2016 he took up a consultant post in The Countess of Chester hospital becoming the clinical director for ophthalmology in 2024.
Mr Craig Parkes is an expert in routine cataract surgery and implantation of premium lenses in addition to correction of complicated cataract surgery, lens exchange and aphakia correction. He also sub-specialises in diseases of the retina offering a wide range of treatment ranging from Age related macula degeneration and diabetic eye disease to surgical treatment for macula holes, epiretinal membranes and Retinal detachments.
